Our plan to form new generations aware of their rights and obligations, with a well-developed critical sense, and familiar with legislative, legal and institutional elements, made us reach over 1,300 students from the end of 2017 to the end of 2018. This year, we chose to celebrate the coming of spring by handing out constitutions instead of marzipan to all students participating in the marathon.
We signed up for the marathon in teams. After 7 concurrent legal education workshops with almost 200 students from "Emil Racoviță" College and "Vasile Lupu" College, we came out winners!
The "RespectEDucation Academy" project succeeded in attracting 18 facilitators from the Leaders for Justice (Romania) and LEAD (Moldova) communities to the Legal Education Marathon on 1 March. They come from different professions: lawyers, judges, prosecutors, police officers; all young lawyers, eager to get involved and change for the better. The students benefited from interactive workshops and practical information from professionals who shared their knowledge and experience.
Our colleagues Arina Corsei Vultureanu and Alexandra Oțoiu told TVR about the Legal Education Marathon. You can learn more about the whole project "RespectEDucation Academy", about Liderjust Association and the Leaders for Justice community, by watching the interview on the show Region in Objective, broadcasted on Friday 01.03, at 16:00, live, on TVR Iasi and available on Liderjust facebook page:
Thank you for the support of all those involved in the project, "Vasile Lupu" College and "Emil Racoviță" College from Iasi, and the teachers Pintilie Serinela and Hendreș Mihaela for their openness towards this project, people who made this event possible.
