The Leaders for Justice Community launches the movie "PEOPLE OF JUSTICE. In Dialogue with Liana Alexandru"
Author: Doru Toma
The Leaders for Justice Community launched on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the short episode series "PEOPLE OF JUSTICE. In dialogue with Liana Alexandru", in which 13 young lawyers tell about their personal and professional lives.
The project aims to convey normality and humanity from the justice system to the citizen.
Our society is at a point where information about justice follows one another rapidly and is hard to follow, sometimes even for lawyers.
Answering Liana Alexandru's questions, the 13 protagonists tell how they see justice in Romania today, what cases have marked them, what they think about judicial and objective truth, how they relate to empathy and subjectivity, what they think about justice, how they perceive the current tension and pressures, what a day in their life in justice looks like, what rules they break or what they do in their spare time.
Judges from the Leaders for Justice (Romania) and LEAD (Republic of Moldova) communities have in recent years had the opportunity to watch Dutch episodes of the series "Looking into the Heart", interviews with Dutch judges conducted by national television. In October 2018, in a private screening, we decided to start a similar approach and gradually managed to build a team with which the project became a reality in less than 5 months.
November brought with it a concept conceived by Veronica Sîrbu, one of the protagonists, and Doru Toma, the coordinator of the Leaders for Justice project. The internal announcement on our community group gathered 13 confirmations, and at the end of the month we managed to complete the team with two people who contributed in a very large proportion: the director Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and the journalist Liana Alexandru.
Filming took place on 12 and 13 January in Bucharest, in the space provided by Alina Țiplea from Merci Charity Boutique, and the editing work in January-March, led by Andrei Gorgan, meant several dozen hours in which the filmed material took the form of short episodes on well-defined themes, two 25-minute episodes and a full 55-minute film.
The short episodes will be published on the Leaders for Justice page, the Youtube channel, online platforms or accounts of public figures. The language is simple and easy to understand for the general public, which we hope will take our message of transparency further!
